PEOPLE + COMMUNITY
The Right Thing to Do
Located in Aspen, Colorado, the mission of Response is to support, educate and empower survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Their philosophy is non-judgmental, compassionate and survivor-focused. Their work is completely confidential and free of charge. They are the only organization working specifically on these issues in Pitkin county and western Eagle counties.
Under the leadership of a new female executive director, Response was poised to grow and to do so, wanted to improve their overall communications to have more impact. In that spirit, Response retained Infinite Moon to prepare their first-ever Gratitude Report and to re-design their general brochure.
With an emphasis on education and connection, Infinite Moon designed and developed an 8-page Gratitude Report that provided a comprehensive overview of the prior fiscal year program and financial successes. Survivor and leadership stories were illuminated while at the same time, sharing the facts and truth about the importance and need to respond to domestic violence and sexual assault. The general brochure followed suit a few months later.
Stakeholder Analysis + Community Engagement
Land Trust Alliance
In their formative years land trusts were answering calls from their communities to help protect land from development and to conserve critical wildlife habitat and water resources. This plea for help was answered as land trusts organized to serve their communities with great success. Today, communities are calling upon land trusts again, this time to address a variety of new issues that are just as important.
The Land Trust Alliance has been working the last several years to develop various strategies within its community conservation program to help member land trusts answer this new calling. This includes the stakeholder analysis and community engagement tool project, funded in part by the LOR Foundation. The guidelines were designed to help member land trusts reach their communities more broadly and deeply.
Infinite Moon Communications was retained to participate on the design and development team for the stakeholder analysis tool, and provided meeting facilitation as well as guidance and support for the land trusts. The entire pilot project extended over a seven-month period and included piloting the tool with six land trusts across the West over two phases of the project with the intention of rolling out the tool nationwide the following year.
This new tool provides a framework and process that member land trusts can utilize in reaching out to stakeholders to discuss the different challenges facing their communities. It helps land trusts determine which of these challenges could potentially be addressed by the mission of land conservation, and ultimately which stakeholders are best suited or positioned to partner with the land trust to help make the community a better place to live.
Pilot land trusts included:
-Black Canyon Regional Land Trust
-Bitter Root Land Trust
-Mesa Land Trust
-Palouse Land Trust
-San Isabel Land Protection Trust
-Santa Fe Conservation Trust
The Stakeholder Analysis Tool is available to download for free on the Land Trust Alliance website.
Helping to grow farmers
The mission of this small, yet mighty, non-profit is to grow the next generation of farmers and ranchers. To take them to the next level, Guidestone was in need of a membership brochure that highlighted their organization and the educational opportunities they provided, while at the same time asking the reader to join their cause. The brochure needed to appeal to an audience equally as diverse as their programs, while still maintaining the overall organizational branding. It also needed to adapt and function well as a direct-mail piece, handout and look awesome on display.
With a short turnaround time, Infinite Moon provided project management, copy writing and design.
At year-end, Guidestone mailed the brochures along with a Holiday appeal letter. The result? The brochure more than paid for itself the first time out the gate, raising money and awareness for this great non-profit.
