Every week I head to Spirit Horse Ranch in Westcliffe, Colorado to sit and study with my Teacher, Jill. Something I've been doing in some form or another for over 13-years. My current weekly visits are an opportunity for deep exploration, self reflection and awakening. It's also where I spend time clarifying my dreams and visions for my business - and life! Let's say, continuing education AND business development, all wrapped up in one! Anyway, this week when I arrived my Teacher's beautiful herd of horses were walking in from the pasture.
On the left is Naiobi (gray). She is a magical mustang whom I had the honor of picking up in Nebraska at a BLM holding facility and bringing to her new home a few years ago. Next over is Grace, a wise old girl who spent many years of her life as a race horse and brood mare. She came to live her joyful and free years at Spirit Horse Ranch many moons ago. That cute and robust buckskin in front is Legolas. Lego was born on the ranch in 2006 and has had the good fortune of growing up with the amazing Spirit Horse herd and has been guided into his life by a strong Mama who is no longer with us and his pal, Cody (not pictured). On the far right is Hope. To me, Hope is a Being from the deep moonscape and an embodiment of the gorgeous and soulful feminine. I'm not too sure of her story, I vaguely remember hearing something about her being tied to a kids play set, freaking out and all hell breaking loose. Don't quote me on that. But as long as I've known this herd of horses, I've known Hope. She has taught me much about the way of the feminine and I'm deeply grateful for her presence. Remmy, who recently came to live with me, is also from this herd, as is Calypso - the blue eyed fella featured on my homepage.
Years ago a little 10-year old girl came to visit me and my then herd of horses. The first thing she said when she arrived was, "horses, horses, horses"! That pretty much sums it up for me too!
